Spain is a great place to go shopping. You can find all the top designer brands from Armani to Hugo Boss and Spanish designer labels such as Zara and Adolfo Domínguez. In Spain the winter sales usually start around the 10th of January and summer the sales around the 5th of July. Opening hours can vary considerably between regions, but normally shops will open at 10am and close at 2pm for siesta and then re-open from 5pm to 8pm. A lot of the big stores including the hypermarkets and department stores will stay open all day. Most stores close on Sundays and on fiestas, which incidentally, Spain has a lot of. |

| For those looking for a bargain, you're sure to find one at the local markets or mercadillos. Different areas have a different day that they hold their markets on and as a general rule, the earlier you go the more chance you have of finding a bargain. Most markets will sell affordable leather goods, antiques and food stuffs. |
